Recently, on New Year's Day 2016, the Faculty of Vehicle and Energy Engineering has organized a ceremony called "Traditional meeting of former students" at the campus yard. This is annual event is taken place on the day of the New Year 1-1. The meeting day of former students is for students who have studied and researched at the faculty have the opportunity to return to meetings, talking with the teachers and colleagues.

Traditional meeting day of former students is held by the former students of the course taking turns to the organizer. This year is held by course 89. This day of meeting was also taken place a ceremony of revolving Cup for course 90 to be held next year ceremony.

Attended the traditional meeting alumni in 2016 is the gathered of the former teachers, lecturers working at faculty and nearly 200 alumni of the course before. Come to the meeting, there are many alumni working and living far away but they were also try to capture buses from late evening to be present on the morning of the ceremony on 1-1. The main thing that makes the ceremony evens more and more sense. In the first day of year, students have the opportunity to meet, share work and life together and have the opportunity to pay tribute to the former teachers.

At the ceremony, Assoc.Prof. Do Van Dung as the university current president was also sharing the targets of schools and school facilities during the integration period.  Also in this speech, with many amusing stories involving within alumni and children of former students.

At the ceremony, the former student also awarded 15 scholarships to students with good academic overcome but difficulties in living condition, student activities and female student of the faculty each 1 million VND per rate. Also during the ceremony, liaison and dean ban has mobilized more than 150 million VND to the scholarship fund of the Faculty: corporation Samco 50 million VND, Bien Hoa Toyota 30 million VND, Thien Phong company 10 million  with individual of former alumni and teachers in the schools.

After the sharing time come from many people is the buffet party along with cultural exchanges and exchange of gifts between the former alumni and retired teachers. Hopefully, the day meeting of next year will have many alumni attending and meeting dates will become more monumental. The meeting day is the New Year's Day, through this day, the students currently studying at the department sent best wishes, good luck and success to the lecturers and their teacher / uncle / physician siblings former students.
