On December 8, 2023, the HCM University of Technology and Education held an inauguration ceremony for a central air conditioning system and a freezing system, which were sponsored by businesses and alumni. Additionally, the Alumni Foundation held career seminars and a scholarship award ceremony for students of the Department of Thermal Engineering.
The ceremony was solemnly held with the presence of the Acting President of the University, the Dean of the Faculty of Vehicle and Energy Engineering (CKD), the Head of the Department of Thermal Engineering, and senior leaders of leading companies in the field of refrigeration, such as Bitzer Vietnam, VINH NAM REFIGERATION ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING COMPANY LIMITED, Rapid Vietnam Co., Ltd., Leading Electric & Machinery Vietnam JSC, ... and a large number of students of the Department of Thermal Engineering.
The event was remarkably successful, with meaningful speeches by the acting president, the dean, and other keynote speeches. The event left a lasting impression on everyone who attended.

Some details about the two sponsored systems:
The modern central air conditioning system (using R134a refrigerant) offers 27kW cooling capacity nominally. The system was constructed by a high-performance compressor with an auxiliary water-cooling cycle (sponsored by RAPID Vietnam Co., Ltd.), AHU (sponsored by Leading Electric & Machinery Vietnam JSC), air delivering system (PTEC CONSTRUCTION JSC), and other components.
The freezing system (using R404A refrigerant) with a cooling capacity of 8.6 kW was made by a Bitzer compressor (also sponsored by RAPID VIETNAM CO., LTD), a heat exchanger with a total heat exchange area of 28.3 m2 (sponsored by Quang Thang Refrigeration Electrical Engineering Co., Ltd.).
Both compressor assemblies are equipped with the ability to reduce load by CRII solenoid valve technology. Besides, both of them can adjust the load by operating conditions via solenoid valve technology (sponsored by LDF Refrigeration Electrical Service Trading Co., Ltd. and Quang Thang Refrigeration Electrical Engineering Co., Ltd.).
The electrical cabinet (sponsored by Vinh Nam Refrigeration Engineering Co., Ltd.) was constructed by a control cluster for these two refrigeration systems using a Programmable logic controller (PLC) and an electronic throttle opening and closing control module using control devices of Carel (Italy).
Especially, these two refrigeration systems are monitored by IQ Module CM-RC 01 Smart Control Black Box (sponsored by BITZER VIETNAM) using Bluetooth communication protocol, wired (to PLCs modules), or wireless protocol (using Bitzer's proprietary Cloud platform).
These two refrigeration systems are synchronous and modern and are ready to use for teaching and research. Students can operate and monitor through an HMI touch screen, and via local network or internet.
